First in MLB Giants wear Pride Colours Uniforms

The Giants plan to celebrate Pride Month unlike any Major League Baseball team to date. The San Francisco Giants announced this afternoon that they will sport proud colors on their baseball hats and baseball jerseys during their game against the Chicago Cubs this Saturday.

They will incorporate 11 Pride colors into their on-field uniforms, along with a San Francisco logo Pride patch on the right sleeve of the jersey and a custom cap with Pride colors in the logo.

We are extremely proud to stand with the LGBTQ+ community as one of the best annual celebrations in San Francisco by honoring the countless achievements and contributions of people who are recognized as LGBTQ+ and allies in the LGBTQ+ community. Let's start. and CEO Larry Baer said in the statement.

According to a report from the Giants team page, fans who purchase tickets to SF Pride Day on Saturday will receive a limited-edition "SF Pride" T-shirt, and partial proceeds from tickets will go toward San Francisco Pride.

A similar decision is the latest by the Giants organization to be ahead of the rest of MLB. In 2019, the Eugene Emeralds, The Giants High-A affiliate, wore the Pride jersey and became the first minor league baseball team to incorporate the colors into their baseball uniforms.
